Scott Darling signs four-year deal with Carolina

The Carolina Hurricanes wasted no time signing Scott Darling to a long term contract. The Hurricanes acquired Darling on April 29th and on Friday they announced he signed a 4 year $16.6 million contract.

Last season as the Blackhawks backup goalie Darling went 18-5-5 with a 2.38 g.a.a and a .924 save percentage.

Carolina was 18th in goals-against average (2.80) but they were 27th in save percentage (.901)

Carolina now has three goaltenders under contract: Veteran Cam Ward (3.30 million cap hit) And Eddie Lack set to make $2.75 million against the cap next year. They’re both eligible to be selected in the expansion draft.
